Isaac Bailey

Isaac Bailey, a free man, was the grandfather of Frederick Douglass who, along with his enslaved wife Betsey, raised their grandchildren, including Frederick, son of their daughter Harriet, in their cabin on a large plantation in Tuckahoe on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
