Venus Lacey

Venus Lacey (1967–    ), born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, won an Olympic gold medal for the success of the U.S. women’s basketball team at the 1996 Atlanta games. She earlier had been the star center for the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters basketball team (1988–90), which won the NCAA title in 1988. She played two seasons with the New York Liberty of the Women's Nation Basketball Association. In 2014, she was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.
